Posting to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
Connect your accounts once, then post from here.
Connect your accounts once and your assistant can write a post and put it up for you, on the accounts you choose. Your connection lives here, in your own workspace, and you can remove it at any time.
Connecting Facebook and Instagram
- Open Settings and go to Social.
- Choose Connect Facebook & Instagram. You will be taken to Facebook to sign in.
- On Facebook's permission screen, make sure EVERY Page you want to post to is switched on. Leaving one off is the usual reason a Page does not appear afterwards.
- You come back to a list of what we found. Tick "Post here" on the accounts you actually want published to.
Connecting YouTube
- In Settings, Social, choose Connect YouTube.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns the channel.
- If your channel belongs to a Brand Account, pick that account at the Google sign-in screen rather than your personal one. This is the usual reason a channel does not show up.
Connected is not the same as posting
Connecting an account does not post anything, and it does not switch anything on. If you manage several Pages, only the ones you tick are ever published to. That tick is the only thing that decides where your posts go, and you can change it at any time.
What each one needs
- Facebook: text, a link, or an image. Any of the three is enough.
- Instagram: an image or a video, always. Instagram will not accept a post that is only words.
- YouTube: a video and a title.
When something does not post
If a post goes to three accounts and one is refused, you are told exactly which one and why, rather than a tick that hides it. The reason is usually about the image: the wrong shape, or too large. The Social screen keeps every attempt and its result.
"Reconnect needed"
Permissions from Facebook and Google expire, and they expire quietly. When that happens the account is flagged in Settings before your next post fails, and reconnecting takes one click. Your choices about which accounts to post to are kept.
Removing an account
Choose Remove in Settings, Social. The permission is deleted immediately and, for YouTube, we also withdraw our access at Google so we stop appearing in your account's connected apps. Posts already published stay up: they are yours and they are on your own accounts.
